Profile

A sub-species of Vegimon whose body is colored green. Its Digi-Core has absorbed data on species of weeds, transforming from a vegetable-like plant to one more akin to kinds of invasive grass. As a result, its body has strengthened—but in a different manner from the likes of RedVegimon. Rather than being stronger than Vegimon, Zassoumon are ridiculously hardy and persistent. These Digimon can survive just about anything, and are extremely hard to kill. A Zassoumon can be burned, blackened, and left for dead, and be fine weeks later, having made a full recovery. Even the attacks of Perfect-level Digimon have difficulty wiping out Zassoumon completely.

One trick to Zassoumon's survivability is its ability to plant itself in the ground and absorb nutrients not just from the soil, but from other plants and plant-like Digimon. This is considered hazardous to the health of plant-life, and even one Zassoumon can cause serious harm to an area. Plants in areas in which Zassoumon proliferate quickly wither and die, so they are considered a nuisance at best and pests at worse.

Attacks

A Zassoumon's greatest trick is its persistence; with their hardy bodies, it's possible for them to simply win a battle through attrition. They employ similar methods as their Vegimon and RedVegimon cousins, waiting beneath the ground to ambush any potential victims. They have the ability to harden their tendrils and use them as weapons as well, rather than simply as methods of constriction. Zassoumon also have the ability to sap vitality out of other life-forms. While this is most effective against plants and other Plant-species Digimon, it works slowly and painfully on other creatures as well.

  • Dead Weed - Hardens its tendrils like spears and then stabs at the opponent.
  • Head Harvest - Curls and hardens its tendrils like the blade of a scythe and slices at an opponent's neck.
  • Squeeze Vine - Wraps its tendrils around an opponent and squeezes, drawing vitality from them in order to heal itself.

Typical Size

3 to 4 feet tall.
