Profile

A Bakemon subspecies that wears a hat. Though still very similar to Bakemon in appearance, Soulmon are larger, stronger, and generally smarter, and are users of the programming language known as sorcery, specializing in the element of Darkness. Learning sorcery is believed to be the event that caused a Bakemon to mutate into the first Soulmon and produced their trademark witch's hat, which is imbued with programs that increase the power of their spells and improve Soulmon's physical resilience to be more on par with other Adult-level Digimon.

Soulmon's reputation lies somewhere between the contempt many Digimon have for Bakemon and the fascinated respect reserved for those capable of mastering sorcery. They are sometimes considered nuisances, and sometimes considered experts on magic - often both by the same people. Some Soulmon keep company with Bakemon and prefer the same dark, secluded habitats, or follow after stronger Evil-species Digimon, but others gather together in covens of their own kind or associations with other species to study sorcery and other arcane topics, or live in Digimon villages and towns.

Attacks

Soulmon share many of their properties with Bakemon, like their internal portal and weakness to holy data, but are much stronger and more resilient, and have a broader array of powers at their disposal. Through study of sorcery, they can improve and expand the magic at their disposal. Spells that are common among Soulmon are illusion spells to make themselves appear larger or become invisible, and mild telekinesis used to lift and manipulate objects in their environment, like a poltergeist. Their attack spells use elemental Darkness.

  • Necro Magic - Summons spirits of the dead to attack in the form of destructive, evil apparitions, such as a swarm of bats, a wave of darkness, or monstrous, ghostly hands. This attack draws on data associated with fear, regret, and despair, and becomes more powerful in eerie, oppressive places and against opponents vulnerable to fear.
  • End Trance - Summons a large flaming skull made of dark energy and drops it on a target.
  • Energy Drain - Sucks in a deep breath, draining its foe's vitality and healing itself.
  • Hell's Hand - Attacks with a giant, decaying hand from beneath their sheet, striking, scratching, or grabbing the enemy.

4 to 5 feet tall.
