Profile

A Mutant Digimon that has strongly manifested the element of Metal. The high concentration of elemental steel data in its body manifests as its two "Shields of Irony", perfectly reflective mirrors; so perfectly metallic and reflective, in fact, that they not only reflect light, but also reflect attacks that hit them, while taking in the data of the images that appear on their surfaces. Mercuremon can use this property to catch an attack in one mirror and fire the inverse of that attack from the other, with its properties reversed. It can also enter a hidden dimension by capturing its own reflection in its mirror and transporting itself inside, vanishing without a trace. In this dimension, it jumps from reflective surface to reflective surface as a flat image before emerging at will.

Mercuremon are extraordinarily rare in the Digital World. Their only recorded appearances have been in the Western Range and in the industrial region now known as Digiopolis, though unrecorded evolutions may have occurred in other areas with an abundance of elemental metal data. The ruler of Digiopolis, KingChessmon, is attended by a Mercuremon who acts as his advisor. According to Tamer Union records, this Mercuremon is highly intelligent and calculating, but little else is known about them.

Attacks

Mercuremon are humanoid Digimon that move and act accordingly, with physical abilities appropriate to their appearance; generally stronger and more athletic than a human, but not particularly so for an Adult-level Digimon. Their combat abilities revolve around the use of their Shields of Irony, which they are nimble enough to wield to block attacks from any direction. They are also, as mentioned, capable of vanishing into their own mirrors , becoming a reflected image, and emerging elsewhere.

  • Generous Mirror - Uses its Shields of Irony to reflect an attack, or amplifies reflected light from any source to fire a beam of light from one of them.
  • Offset Reflector - Blocks and catches an attack with one Shield of Irony, then produces the same attack from the other, with something about its properties reversed.
