Profile
A Machine Digimon with the form of an armored robotic soldier. Guardromon have thick armor and weapons concealed within their frame, which, as their name implies, makes them excellent guardsmen and sentries. Their armor can withstand even the scorching heat of a Greymon's Mega Flame, and the explosive blast of BomberNanimon's Free Throw Bomb. Their arms serve as missile launchers, deploying pseudo-Digimon as warheads, while its shoulders and eyes conceal laser emitters. Guardromon are not particularly fast, but their backs are equipped with rocket thrusters, granting them somewhat greater speed and allowing them to steadily fly at low altitudes.
It has been determined that Guardromon originally bore the Vaccine-Attribute, before a viral program converted them into Virus-Attribute Digimon. It is believed that this was done in order to create a Guardromon army, under the control of a single being, but since most Guardromon are dedicated purely to defense and following commands, all it did was change Guardromon's Attribute. The majority of Guardromon are relatively simple Digimon, possessing a Machine-like understanding of the world around them, and fulfill their role as sentries regardless of whether their commander is good or evil. It is not uncommon for them to be commanded by Giromon, which have a particular affinity for instructing them. Sometimes, there will be Guardromon that have more well-developed personalities, with their inclination towards protecting things usually motivating them to become defenders of those weaker than they are and to stand up against those with ill intentions. Guardromon also almost universally feel a sense of rivalry with their golden-colored subspecies, with both sides considering themselves superior to the "other model".
Attacks
- Destruction Grenade - Fires missiles from launchers hidden in its arms. These missiles are actually pseudo Digimon, bearing faces, a siren, and arms holding a whistle; these track their target until they eventually hit them or are destroyed.
- Warning Beam - Fires a focused laser beam from its eyes. This attack does more damage than Homing Laser.
- Homing Laser - Fires laser beams from the cannons on its shoulders. This attack does less damage than Warning Beam, but its trajectory can be manipulated in a limited fashion.
- Red Alert - Initiates a self destruct program, triggering a considerable explosion. Guardromon will survive this attack, but be heavily damaged and unable to fight for some time afterward.
