Profile

An Insect Digimon resembling a mole cricket encased in golden armor. The symbol on its back is one of several Crests, shapes associated with the mysteries of evolution since the ancient days of the Digital World. This one is the Crest of Knowledge, which is associated with Insect-species Digimon and the element of Earth. Digmon have strong wings that can carry them through the air, but they are most comfortable by far on or under the ground. With functional drills on both forelimbs and its nose, it is an excellent digger, superior in speed to even the ubiquitous burrower Drimogemon. Digmon's armor protects it from heat and pressure, allowing it to reach depths many Digimon can't handle. Their drills can be detached at will if damaged or to be fired as a projectile attack, and are immediately regenerated, a new drill growing into its place.

As indicated by the Crest of Knowledge it bears, feelings of inquisitiveness or the exercise of wisdom can skew chances of evolution towards Digmon. They are not uncommon in the Digital World, especially on the outskirts of industrial areas and Digimon towns and cities, where they can receive payment and goodwill for doing what they do best - mining, excavating, and clearing land for development. They are typically clever and industrious Digimon who thrive when they have a goal to achieve, so even wild Digmon gravitate to arrangements like this. In remote places, they may butt heads with other burrowing Digimon or Insect-species, but generally prefer to act strategically rather than fight recklessly.

Attacks

Digmon are sturdy but awkward fliers and can be slow and unagile on their feet, but they are swift, nimble diggers in any substrate softer than solid metal - which they are still capable of drilling through to an extent. Naturally, they can drill and crack through the armor of enemy Digimon, too. They are typically cautious fighters that fight cleverly, firing from afar, setting traps, or ambushing the opponent before meeting them head-on.

  • Gold Rush - Fires the drills on its body like missiles. Each drill is immediately replaced upon firing.
  • Big Crack - Drills into the ground, opening up huge fissures.
  • Titan Drill - Flies at the opponent while spinning the drill at high speed, driving it into them.

Typical Size

Around 15 feet tall.
